Oxygen - p.5

​Our element group is the Oxygen family and the group number is 16 and they are in the periods 2-6. The elements in our group are sulfur, oxygen, selenium, tellurium, polonium. Our group is a gas because all 4 elements share the same element oxygen and oxygen is a gas. Three physical characteristics of the oxygen group are that selenium and tellurium are semi metals, selenium(in its most common form)is a redish powder that turns black when it mixes with air, and polonium is highley radioactive. Three chemical property of the oxygen group are that they react with almost every other element, sulfur melts at about 115 degress, and oxygen combines with cells in the human body to give your blood the oxygen it needs. Two common uses are we use oxygen to breathe and its in the earth crust. Three interesting facts are about 2/3 of the weight of the human body is oxygen, Sulfur is yellow and odorless, selenium and tellurium are both relitivly rare elememts.
